The second newsreel, we see aerial footage of the longest passenger vessel to date, the SS France, in France. The sixty million dollar ship awaits to be put into the water for the first time. Crowds stand cheering as the president of France, Charles de Gaulle, waves from the balcony of the ship. Madame de Gaulle christens the boat, and it is pushed out to sea. The third newsreel shows celebrities and socialites arriving at the 55th street Playhouse in New York City. The playhouse is putting on the Shakespeare play, Othello.
