Here's a 1938 home movie clip showing kids in San Francisco playing on a neighborhood street, which is filled with parked cars and appears to be on a hill. The hill looks like Potrero Hill, a neighborhood of San Francisco that is south of SoMa, a.k.a. "South of Market."

We see kids riding scooters, playing cops and robbers, or cowboys and indians, or a combination of the two, kids chasing each other, kids aiming their toy guns at the camera, a kid raising his arms and hands as if under arrest, a kid riding a four-wheeled toy down a street, a teenage boy wielding a stick while staring at the camera, and kids getting in the way of a businessman walking by.

In some scenes, we see the San Francisco Bay in the background as well as the architecture that's characteristic of San Francisco and the Bay Area.
