Here's a 1940s home movie of Arizona.

Clip begins with a panoramic shot of a desert-like landscape, all seen from a hilltop. Homes populate the landscape. Smoke billows up from a tall smokestack

Two men stand on the hilltop, scrutinizing something they've just found. Both men wear hats, perhaps to protect themselves from the burning sun, and look like they might be archaeologists or scientists. One of the men is puffing on a pipe. See the clip here to view shots of both men working on a hillside, looking over the ground carefully as if searching for something valuable, like stones, jewels, or coins.

Next, we see Coolidge Dam, which is in Gila County, or the southeastern part of Arizona. An eagle statue is embedded in the side of the dam. A bus drives across the dam's ridge.

We then see a car driving up a winding road in the far distance. Another shot shows a car with a trailer leaving a mountain tunnel. Pointed rock formations are seen on a small mountain

The clip ends with a close-up of an Arizona map. A hand uses a pointer to trace a path on the map, as if to show where the filmmaker has already travelled or intends to travel.
