A clip from Thomas Edison’s actuality footage, more specifically Street Car Chivalry. Nicely dressed men in suits and hats converse enthusiastically while sitting down until a woman enters the rail car, all of the men stand up immediately and tip their hats to her. She sits down then they all sit down. A larger woman enters the car and all of the men open up their newspapers to hide their faces. The car shakes and the woman bumps against one of the men. He looks visibly disturbed. The woman tries to kiss one of the men in an embrace then he and the man next to him leave the car. The woman sits down gratified. The man next to her scoots away.
