This clip shows a search party from the Mayflower checking out the land, Cape Cod.Some men look on as a man in ruffs writes up the Mayflower Compact. They examine the document, pilgrims and the men in ruffs, and look satisfied. People exit the Mayflower onto a small boat, called a shallop. The search party paddles on towards land. Finally the boat comes to shore and some men jump off. Men with shotguns walk over sand. There is a shot of a stream, and then of a hand examining some soil. In another shot, a man digs out some corn from the ground. The search party discusses something in a glade in some trees, with a man dressed as a pilgrim leading the conversation. VO states that the pilgrims will settle here and call it Plymouth.
