The scene opens at cabin, where a stately man is preparing one of his unique crafts. On this day, a Wednesday of of all days, our protagonist is stewing over a multicolor spread of esoteric stamps. Upon each stamp is a left of right portrait of a regal woman, likely a roman or Greek goddess who represents our desires for power and victory. From his obsession we may assume he values the past, and in that the materials of the past, over the present and those banal happenings about him. However we can’t be so smug. The collector uses stamps, dyed different colors from years of use. He arranges them in patterns to recreate geometric patterns, portraits and famous paintings. The walls of this cabin are actually entirely covered with stamps and an American flag is on the ceiling.
