Ad for Volkswagens with automatic transmissions. Man wearing a suit and holding a briefcase looks at his watch as he checks the street he’s waiting by for his bus. He takes out a clear plastic object with colored dots on it. It is an automatic inflatable chair. The man sits in it and puts his feet on his briefcase. A chef in a commercial kitchen is busy whisking something white in a bowl. There are fruit tarts in front of him. He makes sure no one is watching him and then takes a can of whipped cream out of a pitcher and tops the pastries with it. A construction worker standing in a trench watches a woman’s legs walk by. Simultaneously he tries to open a canned drink and it sprays him in the face. A man carrying an overfilled bag at the grocery store attempts to open the door, but it opens by itself sending him tripping into the parking lot. The male narrator says “Yes, life is getting easier, now there’s a Volkswagen that can be driven just about anywhere without shifting.” A red Volkswagen comes toward the camera on a road lined with trees. The camera pans to the rear of the vehicle and we watch it drive away.
