Here's a 1958 clip that shows a trick shot of a man "living" on the ceiling in his upside-down world.
The clip begins with a youngish man who is seated and is having his head felt or grasped by a white-haired older man, a doctor.
In the next scene, we see the same youngish man sitting in a small room. A door opens beside him, letting in a house cat; but rather than walking into the room like a normal cat, the cat "falls" onto the ceiling above.
We then see the man’s tie rising upward toward the ceiling, in the same direction that the cat went. We next see the man turning himself upside down and “falling” onto the ceiling, just like his cat.
The narrator tells us that the man has finally learned to see his topsy-turvy world right-side up and that the force of gravity taught the man how to do so -- though it took him some time.
In the last scene, the youngish man appears just fine standing up in his room -- even though some of the furniture looks like it is upside down. The youngish man shakes his doctor's hand, seemingly thankful for the doctor's assistance in setting him straight.
