Here's video footage of the New York City skyline during the mid-1980s. Most of the footage is tinged a brown-gray green-olive color.
The camera is positioned around midtown, just south of Central Park, and is facing the downtown area of Manhattan. The Empire State Building and the Twin Towers are landmarks that standout in the skyline.
Most of the visible buildings are seen in silhouette in the brilliant morning sunlight. The camera captures the sun alone in at least one shot. On some building tops, steam or smoke rises. Near the end of the clip, we see traffic in midtown Manhattan.
