Here's a Hi8 home movie of friends traveling through Hollywood in the early 1990s. This is clip 2 of 2.
The clip begins with a slow, pan-right shot, which turns a complete 360-degrees, on the grounds of Griffith Observatory. The observatory and other visitors are shown. A kid uses a telescope, which is pointed in the direction of downtown Los Angeles; we see downtown in the distance. The sky is partly cloudy, and a layer of smog blankets much of the Los Angeles area. The sun is beaming brightly.
After several shots from within the observatory, we see the group of friends outside, talking and posing for the camera. They each pose with the Hollywood sign in the far distance with their faces in the foreground.
The group is then seen driving down a street in Los Angeles. It is early morning. The streets are mostly empty. We see palm trees and LA businesses from the car.
The guys are now in their hotel room. They play hip hop on their boombox. One guy blows his nose. The camera gives a few pan shots from their patio. We see palm trees, the top of a building, and a mountain range in the distance. We also see the top of a large moving truck, which is parked on the street below outside the hotel.
The clip ends with shots of the inside of the hotel, which has an interior, covered courtyard. The many floors of the hotel can be seen. People are sitting on sofas and chairs on the ground floor of the courtyard.
