1950s
Here's a clip with three 1950s commercials -- for Lustre Creme (a shampoo), for Hellmann's Mayonnaise, and for Quaker Rice Snacks.
For Lustre Creme, two woman get ready for a double date. One of the women mentions that she needs a good shampoo that doesn't take all the body out of her hair. The other woman gives her Lustre Creme. Next, the woman is seen in the shower, lathering her hair with shampoo and says, “Creamy lather.” In the next clip she is dressed and dried. She feels her hair and says, "Dreamy body.” At dinner, her date calls her, “Beautiful sister-in-law.” The scene cuts and the woman is seen holding the shampoo and says, "Beautiful Lustre Creme.”
The next commercial is a cartoon and is for Hellmann's Mayonnaise. A chicken jumps up and down and advertises the product. The commercial is accompanied by a slogan song.
In the final commercial for Quaker Rice Snacks, a cartoon Quaker man and child are explaining how their product is made. They light a canon ball and load the snacks. The fuse doesn't work. They jump in to see what the problem is, and blow up. They conclude that Quaker is so unique because it's shot with guns.
