Dramatizes a poem by Rolf Forsberg, clip from his short film “Ark” about a man set in a near-future Earth in which pollution/ greenhouse gases have destroyed much of the environment. A man (”Noah”) in the film attempts to protect a small pond by building a greenhouse around it.A man writes with white crayon on the shell of a turtle and releases it into the pond, the turtle walks away. The man looks up at the roof of the greenhouse, a man in a gas mask is tapping on the glass, several other zombie-like men and women hang onto the girders of the greenhouse and knock/bang on the glass panes. The man shoes them away, but the “zombies” persist and eventually break the glass, scaring a pigeon/bird.The man in the greenhouse dials a phone and calls the police, but receives an operator’s recorded message/voice. The “zombies” continue to break the glass, shards of glass fall into the pond, falling on snakes and frogs, the man wades in the pond water to try to save the animals but his attempts are futile.Pollution, environment, future, ecosystem
