Subject of the footage is the Humpty dance. A dance born from the Digital Underground Song “The Humpty Dance”.

Footage begins with a CU of a young African-American man with glasses being interviewed by a news reporter on the subject of the Humpty dance. In the background stands a small crowd of vocal and excited youths who grow louder as the reporter asks “Can you show me how it goes?” Although apparently reluctant, interviewee gives into his friends cheers and does a brief burst of the Humpty dance.

In the meantime, the cameraman paces back to a MS to capture the dance. Cuts to a low-angle LS, framed on a single, silhouetted dancer as he does the Humpty. In the distance is a large building, monotone and flat under a veil of mist. A hip-hop track, along with an off camera conversation, can be heard. Passers by walk through the shot while the dancer continues. Camera zooms to a tighter framing of the dancer.
