Nixon Ordeal- Venezuela Mob, and Hero's Welcome Home (part 2 of 3); As the Nixons drive through the streets of Venezuela, police stand by on motorcycles as the mob throws rocks at the car windows. There is a close shot of the broken windows, from inside and out. A long line of guards accompanies the Nixons the next day as they return to the airport, at which time they say goodbye to local leaders. They walk up a PAA staircase and board a US Air Force plane. Back in Washington DC, a happy crowd with signs greets the Nixons. President Eisenhower is there to greet them as well and he stands beside Nixon as he speaks about his travels saying that despite small loud groups of protest, the majority of people in South America are supportive of US goals.
