This clip is a montage of the lives of various soldiers in WWII, mostly of marches and advancing trucks. CU of people waving, cut to a LS of a parade of military trucks going through a crowd. Various shots of the soldiers in the convoy and the crowd laughing and cheering follow. LSs of a large field with an American soldier giving a VO. A soldier walks with his hands up in MS. Soldiers hopping a barbed wire fence in WS. Next a soldier gives another soldier directions in MWS, followed by two CUs of their faces. Following this some villagers give soldiers water as the VO changes to a British soldier, then to a different American soldier. On screen troops walk with a man in a top hat and an umbrella. Following this, shots from the back of trucks are taken, passing soldiers on the roadside. A nice WS follows of soldiers walking down the road as they face the camera. A Canadian soldier then takes over the VO as images of a bomb site come on camera. Another American then takes up the VO, this time talking about planes as images of them taking off as well as CUs of pilots come on screen. Shots that follow include a GI fixing a telephone pole, a girl kissing a soldier, some smiling troops, a dancing girl at a show with soldiers in BG, the crowd clapping, then CU shots of soldiers laughing, as well as more shots of soldiers on tanks and traveling forward.
