A responsible American daughter is tapping her foot as she listens to music on the radio and irons. The news comes on and she turns the radio off, asking her mother about getting an electric iron. The mother agrees and wishes they had an electric dryer too. The daughter says “Whee!” and turns off the iron. The son of the family and his friend arrive home and come through the front door while mom, looking like a typical 50’s housewife, is straightening up. She hugs her son and the son introduces his friend. The son teases his sister. Cut to the bathroom where the friend is shaving in the mirror with an electric razor and talking to the son. The son pokes his head out from the shower curtain to brag about the electric water heater.
