Here's a 1951 clip showcasing Pebble Beach and what tourists might find attractive about the location. The footage was meant to preface coverage of a sports car racing event that took place in Pebble Beach at the time.

Begins with a couple driving off a main road to a checkpoint. They appear to be driving an Alfa Romeo convertible. A "Del Monte Forest" sign is on the roof of the checkpoint. Another sign nearby reads "SEVENTEEN MILE DRIVE • PEBBLE BEACH • LODGE."

Once the couple is past the checkpoint, they drive along a coastline and stop to soak in the beautiful, scenic coast — a mix of rocks, reef, sand, and trees. The couple is well-dressed. The man is smoking a pipe. After taking in the scenery, they drive off into the distance.

A fawn walks through a grassy area at the edge of a forest.

Two men play golf on a golf course. The ocean is nearby and seen in the background. One man puts a ball with his golf club and the ball enters the hole. The same man then hits his ball over a reef and water to get to the next hole in the course.

A man and woman, both using rifles, engage in skeet shooting, or clay pigeon shooting, near a beach.

A group of dressed-up people sit at a table beside a swimming pool. The table itself is beneath an umbrella. A girl jumps off the jumping board that’s extended over the pool. A boy wearing swim trunks climbs out of the pool using the pool’s metal ladder and smiles for the camera.

A couple walks across a manicured lawn that’s beside an exclusive-looking lodge.

Sports cars are parked at the lodge’s entrance area. The couple with the Alfa Romeo pull into the parking lot. Lodge guests in the parking lot shake hands and greet each other.
