Here’s a 1950s home movie clip of the Yamacraw Village in Savannah, Georgia. The village is a complex of public housing.

Begins with a shot of a “Yamacraw Village” sign.  The sign also reads: “A DEVELOPMENT OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF SAVANNAH[.] This Project is part of the Slum Clearance and Low Rent Housing Program of the United States Housing Authority[.]” Traffic passes the camera on a palm tree-lined street.

The camera pans the neighborhood revealing ows and rows of identical housing. Everything looks fairly new. A few black pedestrians are seen.
