A narrator tells the tale of a man, Bill and his concerns and daily routine over the following scenes: Bill walks out of his yellow house, followed by his wife and daughter, Suzie. They are all dressed in mid-1950s clothing. Suzie has braces on her legs due to a crippling disease. The narrator announces that today they will find out if Suzie is cured and if her braces can be removed. As Bill gets into his car (a model circa 1957) and drives away, the narrator announces that Suzie and his family are on Bill's mind. Bill nearly gets into an accident by running a stop sign on Mary Bell Ave. Cut to Bill at work. He wears glasses now. Bill puts on gloves and a tool belt and approaches an electrical pole. He inserts pegs into the pole and touches the pole only to get shocked and collapses on the ground. The narrator explains how being distracted is a safety hazard.
