This is a campy narrated clip about a husband and wife who go to the local gas station to purchase a new battery for their car. The couple drives up to a gas station in a typical 1950’s style convertible car. The husband, Mike, speaks with the auto mechanic about the type of battery he should purchase, either the cheaper but lesser quality battery, or the slightly more expensive battery that will last longer. He hesitates, thinking that 19 dollars is too much money, but the mechanic convinces him that the better quality battery is the best decision. The wife just smiles silently the entire time. The husband believes that the decision for a new car battery is analogous to his marriage.Marriage, consumer, car, upgrade, married life, married couple, financial decision, choice, patriarchy
