Here's a home movie showing Iran in 1966. This is clip 1 of 2.
Clip begins with a man shoveling dry dirt and debris from one place to another, creating a cloud of dust.
We then see a POV driving shot down a wide urban street. A Canada Dry sign is seen on a building, and a police officer is directing traffic. Traffic is minimal.
We then see a sequence of ornate buildings. Some have domes, towers, and facades covered with intricate, detailed designs.
The camera focuses on a storefront. For sale are metal light shades, metal vases, and metal pans.
A trio of women, all wearing turquoise head scarves, appear to be creating a fanciful tapestry or rug. The women's backs face the camera.
Next we see a rock-like hill upon which large rugs lay. The rugs are laid out on the hill, perhaps to air them out or get them dry. Near some of the rugs is a large, rectangular, stone-like or rock-like artwork, embedded in the side of the hill. One man folds one of the rugs.
At the bottom of the hill, is a medium-sized pond. Mostly young boys and men are swimming or playing in the pond. Some people are scrubbing rugs that are laid out beside the pond. Others are cleaning their clothes. One man rings out the water from his piece of clothing.
We then see the same man from before, shoveling dry dirt and debris from one place to another. It appears that the man is either trying to cover something, or is trying to even out a patch of ground, or both.
We then see a wide pan shot a mostly flat region of Iran. In the foreground are many primitive-looking homes in a rural neighborhood. In the far distance is a mountain range.
The camera cuts to a street with lots of parked cars and minimal traffic.
The final shots of the clip focus on fanciful architecture, including a dome in the distance and a castle-like structure, which may be a mosque, which has a large courtyard and many high-arched walkways.
