The therapist Carl Rogers speaks directly to the camera following his interview with "Mr. Lynn," a patient frustrated by his homosexual impulses. Rogers suggests that in the typical therapeutic session, the patient will begin with a particular problem, and as they talk through it, come to explicate a more total pattern of experience. He then talks about the patient-analyst relationship. In a postscript, Rogers follows up by explaining that Lynn eventually returned to therapy for a much deeper exploration of his personality and behavior.
