The therapist Carl Rogers conducts an interview with "Mr. Lynn," a patient frustrated by his homosexual tendencies. Lynn compares his thought processes to the way that he composes music: he takes one step forward, and then very arduously copies, revises, and rearranges the one thing he has done. He also suggests that he is prone to nostalgia about his past, that he always thinks it was better at some earlier state in his life. At the end of the clip, Rogers announces that the session is over, and invites Lynn to return the following week.
