Jesse Jackson's 1988 Democratic National Convention speech. He talks about how common ground is found at the most difficult of times, and how politics can be about moral issues. He then lists the moral issues that the US is facing that need to be addressed, and how they are common ground for everyone. Jackson says that America is not a blanket, but a quilt of different patches that is held together by a common thread. He says that each minority has a patch that is right, but their patches are not big enough, and they must stick together so that they can be heard.
