Pablo Neruda walks through a zoo with some school boys. They watch the seals, elephants, monkeys and tigers. While watching the animals, Neruda writes down notes. The narrator reads his poem An Ode to an Elephant. In the next scene, Neruda buys himself a snack from a merchant. He feeds the animals with a little girl. The girl feeds Neruda a piece of bread. The clip concludes with Neruda perusing through a flee market. The narrator expresses how Neruda has to touch to understand things.
