CU of an industrial washing machine. A woman wearing a scarf on her head, pushing a baby carriage looks up to talk to someone in an upper story window of a building. People walk along the street, coming in and out of shops. A man chews gum and leans on the open hood of a car, looking at and working on the engine inside. CU of a pedestrian crossing sign as cars and trucks drive by in the street behind. The narrator explains that this area was once an affordable place to live where immigrants settled, but now things are changing and only some parts are still affordable to live. Shot of neighborhood boys playing ball in a cul de sac. A boy with a bike stops to talk to some friends sitting on a stoop. A little girl plays.
