Long, tableaux shot of Houdini in a jail cell with a group of police officers enveloping him and taking him to the ground. Narrator explains who Houdini was as this footage unfolds. A title imposed over the footage reads “HOUDINI IN PERFORMANCE”. They tie him up in black straight jacket and leave him in the room by himself. He struggles on his feet to break out of the straightjacket and slowly succeeds. He jumps out of the jacket and stomps on it. The cops come back in and shake their fingers at him.
