This clip starts the dramatization of Freud’s theory of the id, superego, and ego. Stills of children looking angelic, then of classrooms full of children. Freud, played by an actor, comes out of the darkness, again smoking and again carrying a cane. He speaks to the camera about the ego and the id. LS of figures in the darkness, with a man at a table to the right. A masked, colored figure dances around. Cut back to Freud, then back again to the creeping figure. In BG behind it we see a man in a white suit and white half-face mask crossing his arms; he is identified as the superego. Cut to MCU of this figure. Back to Freud, then again to the LS of ego (the man at the desk), id, and superego on the same stage.
