Video opens with Walter Abernathy (who works for the Port of Oakland) dressed in a suit, standing in front of the Port of Oakland ship docking area. He discusses how the Port of Oakland is a modern containerized port facility, and how the facilities and equipment are used to permit vessels to unload quickly. He mentions how the port’s influence is creeping up over the town. A newscaster voice over briefly describes the port and its history and gives statistics. The video cuts back and forth between shots of Abernathy and activities occurring in the port: container cranes load cargo onto ships, transtainers (or stradle carriers) move cargo containers, various trucks drive around.
