This video contains space footage from outside and inside orbiting vehicles. The video contains audio narration from a number of different voices which explain what the video is showing. The video seems to display the maiden voyage of the Orbiter Shuttle, focusing upon the qualities and performance of this new space vehicle. The opening wide angle shot shows a large expanse of the earth to the left of the shot, and the blackness of space on the right. The shuttle sits between the blue glow of earth and the darkness of space. Meanwhile the narration explains that the view of the shuttle is from 1000ft out. Cuts to a “view from the other direction” of a satellite, only just visible against dark space behind. Cuts to a medium close up inside the shuttle showing 3 astronauts at the controls of the space shuttle. Cuts back to a shot of the satellite and then cuts to a shot of two purple lights against the black of space, the narration explains that the 3 flash white lights are the “jets firing”. From here the footage cuts to a shot of the same jets flashing but now the view is from “inside the cockpit” and the lights are more detailed. Cutting to another wide angle shot from inside the shuttle, the curve of the window is visible in the right of the frame meanwhile Earth glows below the satellite which is now noticeably closer than in previous shots, also in the right of the frame is the shuttle grappling hook. Cuts to a wide angle shot of the Orbiter shuttle viewed from above. Cuts to a MW shot of the shuttle grapple slowly approaching the satellite. The narration continues to explain the process of navigating the shuttle and the grapple. Now the footage cuts to POV shot from the front of the grapple as it approaches the hook up point on the satellite. Cuts to a medium close up of the astronauts who are controlling the grapple while watching it through the shuttle window. Final shot of video shows a MS of the shuttle which fills the frame and slowly passes from left to right.
