Sound delay; commercial for Down fabric softener; a teenage boy prepares for a date, and the father gives him a slight ribbing, but mother comes in with his outfit, which he frets over whether it will look good; as parents leave, father laments that this is the first he’s worried, while mother responds that he’s getting older; mother laments on whether son will notice that she used Downy to make his clothes softer and smell fresh; the son, meanwhile, notices that his corduroy pants are soft, and then calls mother into his room to tell her that it smells “terrific!”, to which she was was astounded that he noticed; he responds, “I just keep forgetting to tell you--must be because I’m getting old!” to which she rolls her eyes; end voiceover: “the April Fresh smell of Downy: a noticeable improvement!”
