This 1981 clip focuses on exterior shots of a red-brick building on the National Institutes of Health campus in Bethesda, Maryland.

The building is referred to by some as “building 1.” The building's facade, supported by six white pillars, reads “NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH.” Above these words is the seal of the U.S. Public Health Service.

The building has an evergreen front lawn with several bushy green trees and bushy dark-red trees. The sky is overcast. Next to the lawn is a sidewalk; several people walk down its path.

Across the street from the NIH building is a parking lot. A blue Volkswagen van is parked in this parking lot along with other vehicles.
