Shows cooperative (collective) farming programs and rural communities sponsored by the New Deal. Intertitles read “Growing the first crops” next to a drawing of a farmer holding a plow pulled by cattle. Farmers converse next to a plow drawn by horses. They work on a field, then more wagons are seen. A shed in the rural community of Woodlake, East Texas is shown, then a man shovels manure into a wagon. He later applies the fertilizer to the soil. Other men work in a shop to cut planks of wood.
