Cacti of different shapes and sizes are seen in a Tucson desert. A family gathers desert grass, rocks, baskets of cactuses, and saguaro ribs inside a truck. At their home, they work at desks and tables. An old man sands a saguaro frame, another man draws using pastels, a woman covers a curved diorama painting with plastic and sand, and an older woman adds dried vegetation, molded clay, and Indian wheat. A young girl later paints bright colors with small brushes. The framed and finished dioramas are seen, displaying various desert landscapes at night and day. The family poses together and smiles at the camera.
